  A   Add On Additional flight sectors at extra cost
  Advanced Purchase A fare requiring payment a certain number of days prior to departure
  AF Flight travels via Africa
  Amendment Changes made to your booking
  AP Flight travels to Europe via North America (ie. To the Atlantic, Via the Pacific)
  APEX A fare requiring payment in advance of departure
     
  B   Backtracking You cannot travel back the way you came-you must go in one direction
     
  C   Cancellation Penalties applied to canceling your ticket
  Carrier The name of the airline you are flying with
  Changes Penalties applied to changing your ticket
  Child For international travel:
A person 2-11 years
For domestic travel:
A person 3-14 years
  Class A letter based code indicating what class of fare you have purchased (ie: Y, S, M, O, T, U (plus airline variations) = economy, J and C = Business, F=First)
  Codeshare A shared scheduled flight
  Combinations Add On fares (see Add On) permitted with the fare you have purchased
  Common Rated Destinations/Cities that share the fare price level which allows travel to any one of those destinations for the same fare price
  Conditions The rules applied to your fare
  Connection Changing from one flight to another
  Coupons The part of the ticket collected at the check in counter. There should be a coupon with corresponding to each flight you take. Airlines will generally not permit travel without a coupon.
     
  D   Destination The final point of arrival
     
  E   EH Via the Eastern Hemisphere, ie, Europe via Asia
  ETA Estimated Time of Arrival
  ETD Estimated Time of Departure
  Ex… Means "From…", ie, Ex Sydney—A departure from Sydney
  E-Ticket A paperless electronically generated ticket
     
  F   Farebasis The code assigned to the fare you are traveling on. It is made up of numbers and letters and is airline specific. The codes change regularly.
  Fare The price of the airfare you purchase
  FOC Free of Charge
     
  G   GSA General Sales Agent. An agent who represents an airline in a place where the airline has no official office
     
  H   Hubs The Primary cities that an airline flies out of
     
  I   Infant For International:
      A person up to 23 months
  For Domestic:
      A person up tp 35 months
  Interline Transfer A transfer between airlines
     
  L   Longhaul A long distance flight
     
  M   Milage The total number of miles permitted on a fare
  Mimimum Stay The least amount of time you can stay at destination in order to purchase a certain fare
  Maximum Stay The greatest amount of time you can stay at a destination
  MPM The highest number of miles permitted for your fare
     
  N   Nominated Carrier The airline you can fly
     
  O   Online Carrier Changing flights from one airline to the same airline
  Open Jaw To fly into one city and out of another and it not incur penalty
  Open Dated Return date not set
  Origin Point you commence your trip
  Outbound Flight from your point of origin
  OW One way
     
  P   PA A flight that travels via the South Pacific
  PAX Passenger
  PN A flight that travels to South America via North America
  PNR Passenger Name Reference- otherwise known as a booking number
  Published Fare The standard ticket price set by the airline
     
  R   Reissue Changes made to a booking that requires the reissuing of a ticket
  Rerouting Changes made to the route of a booking
  RT Return
     
  S   Season There are different fare prices for different times of the year
  Sector Each portion of a journey(i.e Syndey/Bangkok/London, the Sydney/Bangkok is a sector)
  Sidetrip A round trip from one of your destinations(i.e Syndey/London/Paris/London/Sydney -the London/Paris sector is a sidetrip)
  Stopover A pause in your journey where you leave the airport for more than 24 hours
  STPC The airline pays your accomodation expenses during a stopover
  Suggested Route The most logical route to suite your itinerary
  Surcharges Additional costs
  Surface Sector The passenger plans their own itinerary between flight sectors
     
  T   Tax Taxes levied on airfare such as Airport,Departure and Noise Taxes
  Ticket Issue The agency who issued the ticket
  Traffic Rights The destinations airlines are permitted to fly betweem
  Triple Stars(***) Refer to the rules
  TS A flight to Europe via Korea or Japan
  Turnaround Point The furthest point on your turnaround journey
     
  U   UFN Until Further notice
  Update The latest changes to the fare
  Upgrade Changing from a lower booking class to a higher one
     
  V   V V Vise Versa
  Validity The length of time a ticket can be used
     
  W   Waitlist When a flight you have booked is full and your booking is in a cue, waiting for confirmation of a cancellation of someone else's booking on the same flight
